If My Federal Student Loan Has Not Defaulted Will I Receive The Irs Tax Rebate?

The IRS’ website is not clear on whether the student loans need to have defaulted or not. It just says if you owe the government for student loans the rebate will be applied to that. Any help is appeciated.

  1. If it’s not in default, you’re good to go.

  2. If you qualify for the rebate, having an outstanding student loan won’t hurt you unless it’s in default status.

  3. If you have never defaulted, then this would not be an issue.
